Idaho is more than Wheat and Potatoes
We are a devoted, strong, energetic congregation with deep roots in the community.

Recreation
The outdoors is our playground:
Ski Pebble Creek, Pomerelle, Grand Targhee, Jackson Hole, Kelly Canyon, or Sun Valley
Take the family swimming at Indian Springs or (with a short drive) enjoy a therapeutic soak at Lava Hot Springs.
Hunting and Fishing opportunities are abundant as are opportunities to hike, bike, or bird watch on our vast public lands. Water sports are popular on our large reservoir and the Snake River via the Marina, Seagull Bay and numerous boat ramps.
Motorsports such as snowmobiling and off-road driving are a passion for many.
If parks are more your style, we are a short drive from Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, Craters of the Moon NM, City of Rocks NR, Massacre Rocks SP and many others!

Education
St John’s strongly supports Luther Heights Bible Camp.
We boast as having a great, progressive school system and competitive sports programs. Elementary School students have the opportunity to be in an immersive dual language program (K-5). J.R. Simplot Elementary School is a STEAM school. Its not an understatement to say that our schools are among the best in the state!
Several Pre-Schools are available including our own. We are eagerly awaiting the opening of a brand new Head Start facility. Adult education is available through the Community Education Center or nearby Idaho State University.
Private Christian education is available through the Trinity Classical Christian School.
The Youth Center provides after school activities. Our library is the top in the state for a community our size.

Connected
We may be a small community, but we are safe and strongly connected. This includes connections to Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Salt Lake, and Boise. Big City amenities and services are just a hop, skip and a jump away.
AF offers many family friendly opportunities including our many ministries. One of the city’s most popular events is Music in the Park closely followed by The Little Theater. The GF Youth Center and the AF Library have afterschool activities.
Get all the news at the Power County Press.
Family farming and ranching make up the core economic engine of our community. This engine drives businesses in food processing and manufacturing. Pocatello is a 20 minutes drive and offers many other employment opportunities.
